what if the way you travelled Transformed lives?

Travel further. Travel Slower. Travel Better.

One word that describes Chickenfeet Travels’ big vision? Conservation.

Conservation of our collective heritage and cultural diversity; biodiversity, on land and underwater; landscapes; and the guarantee of our fair and thriving future on Earth.

Travel is our medium for inspiration and action. We design adventures in South East Asia and the Himalayas that show our travellers the people and the places they are fighting for.

what is Tourism leakage?

When we support small businesses we are not helping another CEO fly first class to their third holiday home. When we choose to support locally owned businesses, we are helping families pay for healthcare and education for their children. When we buy from mom and pop shops, we can transform lives.

Studies suggest that in some destinations as little as $5 of every $100 stays in the destination country. Chickenfeet founders Jin and Simon have been to enough remote communities to know that tourism, when done properly, directly influences the education of communities, access to healthcare, and the survival of unique and disappearing indigenous cultures.

Forge, do not Follow

“I want to go where Instagram tells me to go,” said no one ever. For Chickenfeet founders Jin and Simon, the best places are the ones where no-one is around. It will not be trending on any socials but it will feel more special, peaceful, and heartful. You’ll feel like an explorer.

We won’t lie to you, these places are sometimes harder to get to, but they will be completely worth it. These places and the people you will meet allow you to connect with nature and with yourself just a little bit more. It is what turns a tourist into a traveller.

Notice nature

It has been scientifically proven that nature heals.  Canadian doctors can now even prescribe time in nature as medicine!

We are not saying that you need to forsake all modern creature comforts to live in the forest full time; we are saying that prioritising time in nature, to just be, is really important and will be worth every minute. Humans are part of nature and meant to be connected to it. When we do take the time to reconnect, we come back re-energised with clear solutions to our work and life problems. All you need is three days.

Once you know, you know. Try it out, book a trip and you will not turn back!

“What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.”
